Welcome to our Gemstone Boutique


We have selected some of Bancroft Rocks finest semi precious gemstones for clients and well wishers of Asarian-International Org. The gemstones we are selecting from our fifty acres of four glacial deposits in the Bancroft Ontario area is ever growing and we will be adding to the collection. Some stones are more plentiful than others and we have only tapped into a small portion of two of the deposits. As we dig deeper we will uncover more semi precious gemstones from the two older glacial deposits.

Each gemstone is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated, as such they are on a first come, first serve basis. We have gathered information from all over the internet and various scholarly books in our private library. As we learn more about the lore and significance of each type of stone we will add it to our site. Agate

Of the Zodiacal gems Agate is assigned to Gemini (May 21 to June 21): Gemini's children health and wealth command, And all the ills of age withstand, Who wear their rings on either hand of agate.
In the Zodiacal signs from an old Spanish list that most likely is from Arab tradition: Agate is associated with the Zodiacal sign of Cancer The seventh column of the oracle of the 'Dive Bouteille' was agate which was attributed to the planet Mercury. Within other traditions of the planetary influences of Stones, Agate was associated with Venus and Mars. Agate within dreams is said to signify a journey. A moss agate signifies an unsuccessful journey.
Agate is the gemstone of Denmark and also of Panama.
Agate is associated with the 12th year of marriage for wedding anniversaries. Moss agate is associated with the 14th wedding anniversary.
Agate is the natal stone of June. A verse celebrates it's association: Who comes with summer to this earth, And owes to June her hour of birth With ring of Agate on her hand Can health, long life, and wealth command. Thro' the moss agates' charm, the happy years Ne'er see June's golden sunshine turn to tears.
Agate is also the talismanic gem for those born in October according to some traditions.
As an amulet, agates containing white at it's center were said to act as a protector against the spell of an Evil Eye





Bancroftite (Sunstone/Moonstone combination in one crystal)

Rarely does a stone contain the properties of both the Sunstone and the Moonstone. When we find a stone that contains both properties and characteristics we have christened the stones Bancroftite after our geographical area. For mythology see both Sunstone and Moonstone below.

Banded Feldspar


Black Banded Feldspar The use of minerals, as gemstones, dates back to ancient times. Minerals found in ancient Egyptian jewelry and the walls of their tombs and pyramids also include several varieties of quartz and chalcedony, gem quality olivine , and feldspar. Many of these same minerals have been found in the ruins of Sumerian and Babylonian cities and tombs. In one contemporary birthstone chart the gemstones are approximations of the twelve gemstones that decorated the breastplate of Aaron, brother of Moses and high priest of Israel. Each of the twelve gemstones was engraved with the name of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. February is listed as purple Quartz or banded black and white Chalcedony. Chalcedony being one form of Feldspar. Black is associated with mystery and the great unknown. It is believed that wearing black or grey stones in jewelry, or clothing, suppresses and protects the emotions while portraying the wearer as mysterious, sexy, and sophisticated. Black is actually the absence of all color, but we commonly refer to it as a color and black is thought to banish and absorb negativity, it is symbolic of outer space and the universe. In some cultures, black represented fertility, in others it represented wisdom.

Chalcedony

Chalcedony includes many well known varieties of cryptocrystalline quartz gemstones. Chalcedony includes agate, bloodstone, carnelian, chert, jasper, moss agate, onyx, sard, just to name a few of the better known varieties. Colours: It has a waxy lustre and appears in a great variety of colors -- usually blue-white, buff, light tan, grey, yellow or brown. In healing practices it is said to calm touchiness; melancholy; fever; gallstones; eye problems; stimulates maternal feelings and creativity. Mystical properties are said to assist in overcoming fears in children, help the wearer to get in touch with nature and the introspection. Said also to help the wearer view themselves with more clarity and see the world through a broader viewpoint. It is a stone of protection in general and from anger, jealousy and fear. In addition it can help with manifestation of one's desires, and brings good luck.





Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz (also called rock crystal) is the gemstone of Switzerland and Japan. In gem lore clear quartz is given on the 15th Wedding Anniversary. In some traditions clear quartz is considered to be a Winter Gemstone. In some lores Clear Quartz is used to divine the future and commune with the spirits. It is said to subdue emotions, sexuality and intimacy in the second Sacral charka, the Svadhisthana, and to open understanding cosmic consciousness and enlightenment of the seventh 'crown' charka, Sahasrara.





Labradorite

In the phenomenal gemstones for the days of the week Labradorite represents Saturday. It is also associated with the Winter Season. It is said to open the heart charka to receive love. Also said to enhance dreaming and recall of those dreams. In the 6th 'Third Eye', Ajna, of the charka Labradorite is said to subdue clairvoyance, intuition, and psychic senses. Moonstone
In some traditions Moonstone signifies the Third Eye and foretelling of futures. It also said to protect those at sea and when given to lovers to help discern their future together in enduring love. It aids in clear thinking and decision-making. Within the third 'naval' charka, the Manipura, it subdues energy, vitality, desire, and power. Within the 6th charka, the third eye, the Anja, it opens one up to clairvoyance, intuition, and psychic senses. In some traditions Moonstone is the phenomenal gemstone for Monday. It is also considered a gem of the winter season. In gemstone tradition, Moonstone is given for the 13th wedding anniversary In dreams, moonstones signify impending danger. Peristerite

Peristerite is closely related to Moonstone. All qualities related to the moon-- sensitivity, intuition, and clairvoyance -- are also connected to Persiterite. Smokey Quartz


Smokey Quartz (also called Cairngorm) is the gemstone of Scotland. In the first 'root' charka, the Muladhara, smokey quartz is said to subdue survival instinct, security, and grounding. In some traditions it is said to bring calm and patience as problems work themselves out naturally. It also helps to clear negative energy, and help to create security in the self It is said to be an excellent mood elevator and bring grounding and centering. In other traditions it is said to protect against bad luck and helps to increase tolerance of stress, and to cope more easily with hard times. Said to be a stone that promotes group enhancement is imparts unifying energy. It is also said to be associated with the astrological signs of Capricorn & Sagittarius. As such it attunes energies for spiritual development and acts as a protective energy barrier around the user. Also said to encourage astuteness in business and purchasing. Sunstone

Tourmaline


Tourmaline is the gemstone of Brazil and also New England. In some traditions Tourmaline signifies electricity. In gem lore it is given on the 8th wedding anniversary. It has several associations with the Charka. It is said to subdue understanding cosmic consciousness and enlightenment in the 7th "crown" charka, Sahasrara, and also subdue survival instinct, security, and grounding of the 1st "root" charka, Muladhara. Green Tourmaline is said to subdue love, home and compassion of the 4th 'heart' charka, Anahata. In dreams tourmaline is said to foretell an accident. In some traditions tourmaline is considered to be an Autumn stone.
